About: Peel House Contractors were contracted in June 2008 to undertake the £750,000 refurbishment of a brand new Suburban Style Cafe/Bar located within the award winning, prestigious £150 million Gateway development in Leeds city centre.

It took just 13 weeks to transform the empty unit underneath the Accor Etap hotel in to a 4,200 sq ft (768 sq m) sumptuous new bar able to accomodate 350 people. The bar is the first city centre venue for the Suburban Style Bar group and will become the company’s flagship venue.

The Gateway, located at the eastern end of The Calls is a city centre mixed-use scheme comprising 642 residential apartments, a 218-bed hotel, offices, bars, restaurants and creche facility which will contribute to regenerating what was a former industrial site. The 15-storey complex which has been designed by Carey Jones Architects, valued at £75m, is expected to be completed in 2008.
